Twenty teams have become just eight as we say goodbye to twelve sides who are departing Japan. England, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, Wales, France, Japan and South Africa are the remaining eight to decide who will become the final four and eventual Rugby World Cup Champion. Today, we look at the two quarterfinals to be played on Saturday.

Rugby World Cup predictions – Day Eighteen

Typhoon Hagibis is threatening to wreak havoc on the Rugby World Cup but before that arrives, we still have one match for day eighteen. The Wallabies and Georgia wrap up their their pool play from pool D. The Wallabies will continue on as runners up and for Georgia, their World Cup comes to an end with one win to their name so far.

Rugby World Cup predictions – Day Fourteen

It has been business as usual in all the fixtures since Japan played last time but now they are back and looking to secure their place in the next round. But before we see them in action, there will be two matches earlier in day fourteen. It kicks off with the Wallabies going up against the first team to pull of an upset this world cup, Uruguay, from Pool D. After that things pick up quick a lot, England will get their first real test of the tournament as they lock horns with Argentina, a decisive matchup from Pool C. Then finally, yes the hosts are back. This could be a massive night for Japanese rugby as a win over Samoa should see them lock in a quarterfinal spot from Pool A. After the fantastic events of day eight in Japan, we have two extremely tight matches in prospect greet us for day nine of the Rugby World Cup, even if at opposite ends of the scale. Georgia taking on shock victors Uruguay from pool D will opening up the day and be followed by the huge clash of Australia and Wales to decide pool D. Both games will be tough to pick and fantastic rugby is definitely the order of day nine! After Japan’s victory against Ireland, I can’t wait, let’s get into it!

Uncapped Potential – The Wallabies 31-man RWC squad

Earlier today Michael Cheika announced his 31-man Australian Wallabies squad for the Rugby World Cup in Japan next month. Cheika, not afraid to take a risk, has named an uncapped rookie who has spent most of the season out with injury, along with an evergreen 35 year old veteran!
