Rugby World Cup predictions – Day Four

After two action packed days in a row, the Rugby World Cup eases up for a couple of days. Monday’s only clash will see Wales meet up with Georgia coming out of Pool D.

Wales vs Georgia – Pool D

As each day goes by we are slowly seeing all the big guns get their run out. For Wales its not their big pool clash up first, Australia will wait. Georgia will be the opening target and as has been with many of these opening fixtures, you would expect a routine victory for the Six Nations champions. They have followed on suit with the other top seeded sides in naming their top side from the squad. Welsh fans will be sweating on keeping Dan Biggar fit for the tournament who will start at flyhalf. Aaron Wainwright gets the nod on the blindside as reward for his buildup form in the back row. Nothing less than a big win will do for Wales.

The world stage is watching Georgia once again and it will be interesting to see just how far they have come in the last four years, if at all. They have ripped rugby icon Mamuka Gorgodze out of retirement and thrusted him straight into the starting lineup on the openside. As we expect from the Georgians, they will be tough in the pack and will look to the big boys to make an impact and upset the Welsh set piece where possible. Their defensive vulnerability in the backs may be where Wales tear this to pieces. A bonus point and no injuries will be all on the Welsh wishlist.
